Hello Peeps,

On my desk I keep a rectangular, metal biscuit tin. In it are a variety of card elements. Images I have coloured and spare parts to previous projects and background experiments that have yet to be transformed into cards. Recently I was rumaging through the tin when I came across a coloured Lawn Fawn image. Actually, it was a complete card. A one layer card complete with a sentiment (don’t whirry, be happy) but it had a stain on the front. The card didn’t feel finished and I would be embarrased to mail it. So I decided to cut it up. With the help of a sketch I found I turned it in to this card.

I cut the image out using a circle die from CreaLies. It was the fifth smallest one from the CLNest XXL nr. 33 set. I chose the Oh Happy Day paper from the Hello Sunshine 6×6 inch petite paper pack by Lawn Fawn and picked the orange paper with the fine grid from the same pack to match. The red paper is from the Simple Stories 6×6 inch paper pack called Sn@p color vibe. On a scrap of Whisper White I stamped the banana, coloured it and fussy cut it out. On a seperate strip of paper I stamped the replacement sentiment. Finally I added a strip of blue paper with a grid pattern. It is also from the same Lawn Fawn paper pad as the orange and happy day papers. The sentiment and banana are attached using foamblocks while all the other layers are glued down with tape runner adhesive.

I am overly content with the way the card looks now in comparison to how it looked. I am sorry that I didn’t think to take a “before” picture. Oh well, you live and you learn.

See you next time,

Leonie
