Hello Peeps,

Retired colours

Have you seen the retired list? There are some big changes coming. One of the most impactful has to be the restructuring of the colour families. Thirteen colours are going to leave the product line and in their place 6 former in-colors will return and 10 brand new colours will be added. And of course we’ll also get 5 new in-colors for 2018-2020. More information about all the changes will follow.

Birthday card

Today, however, I wanted to share this card I made for my teammate, Erica. To make it I used the Number of Years stamp set which is also retiring.

To me it seems like a shame because the sentiments in this set, the sizing of the numbers and the watercolour effect flowers in this set make it a fantastic basic set for any beginning stamper. Since I was working with retiring products anyway, I dezcided to use some of the retiring colours of ink too. Just to let them shine once more. I stamped the number 61 in Pacific Point. Which, out of all the colours on this card, is the only one which isn’t retiring. The branches and leaves are stamped in Wild Wasabi. This is such a beautiful, vibrant green. I am definately going to miss it. The rose-like flowers are both on one stamp and I used Wisteria Wonder to ink them up. The flower with the petals is stamped in Rose Red. This colour really brightens everything up. The lavender-like tops are stamped in Perfect Plum and this colour is perfectly suited to it. (If you chose the Lots of Lavender stamp set during Sale-a-bration you really need to give this colour a try!) Finally, I filled some of the white space around the card with dots in the Elegant Eggplant colour. I cut down the sides of the panel and attached it to a piece of Pacific Point cardstock before adhering the whole thing on to a white cardbase. On the inside I used Pacific Point to stamp the sentiment ’the number of years the world has been an better place because you’re in it.’.

I hope my teammate likes this carsd and I hope you will take another good look at the retiring colours before it’s too late. You can find more information about placing an order under the Ordering header.

See you next time,
