Hello Peeps,

Isn’t it inspiring when people have the guts to follow their dreams! My friend, Saskia, gave me the push I needed to start as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator. This happened during a conversation about our lives. She was considering doing something with her passion for baking, but she wasn’t clear about how she wanted to shape her ideas yet. A little while ago we met up again and she told me she was participating in a qualifying round for Heel Holland Bakt (the great Dutch bake off). So cool. I am so proud of her and I just knwe I had to make a card as a paper sign of encouragement and I knew what to use straight away.

Apron of Love

I Googled the Heel Holland Bakt logo for a fitting colour combination. It turned out to be Pacific Point, Night of Navy, Calypso Coral, Crumb Cake Whisper White and silver. I used the Apron Builder Framelits Dies to cut out all the different parts. I stamped the tiny sentiment on the apron pocket. Using the VersaMarker markerpen, I applied sticky ink to the ends of the different utensils before dipping them in Calypso Coral embossing powder (from my stash, it was discontinued a loooooong time ago). I added a few layers of the embossing powder in order to replicate the silicone look on utensils. I had diecut the tongs and spatula from silver cardstock, which made them look like they were metal. The spoon, scraper and rolling pin were cut from Crumb Cake cardstock which made them look more like wood. The paper is from the Nana’s Kitchen Stack from DCWV from 2009, but I think it matched as far as colour and look.

My friend was very happy with the card and has had a fun day with a lot of waiting behind her. On June 30th she will hear back from the program. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for her.

If you are interested in the Apron of Love stamps and/or the Apron Builder Framelits dies, it could be interesting to know that you can get these as a bundle with a 10% discount. As of june 1st 2018 you can still get both products, but no longer a bundle. If you want to take advantage of the bundle discount, place your order with me soon.

See you next time,

Leonie
