Hello Peeps,

Today I have another card for you featuring the Oh So Eclectic stamp set and the matching Eclectic Layers Thinlits dies. The design is reasonably simple and it can be adapted for many different occasions. Because of the grey background I thought it was modest enough to use as a rememberance card. When you choose a different colour it can easily be changed to a cheerful birthday card of by adding some silver or gold, you can alter it for use as a wedding or anniversary card.

Method

I started by cutting the grey panel, which is slightly smaller than my white card base, from some Sahara Sand cardstock. Next I used the die with the diamond pattern and cut it twice to create a repeating pattern in the background. On a piece of Whisper White cardstock I stamped the flower outlines in Calypso Coral ink. I stamped the coloured petal layers in So Saffron, Blushing Bride and Tangerine Tango. I stamped the flower centers in Calypso Coral and the leaves in Old Olive. After I was done stamping, I cut the images out with the matching dies. I made the composition by using different thickneses of foam squares. When I was happy with the look, I adhered it to the grey layer. By adding it to het white card base with foamsquares, you get a better sense of dimension behind the diamond cut outs.

If you want to use this design for a more festive occasion, it might be fun to decorate the flowers with some Wink of Stella glitter or add a scattering of sequins or enamel dots. For this card, however, I didn’t think it was appropriate.

See you next time,

Leonie
